I'm also a stained glass artist!
I came to stained glass for the light. There's a particular kind of alchemy in it: flat, ordinary glass that does almost nothing on a table suddenly comes alive the moment the sun moves through it, throwing color across a room that wasn't there a second before.
I love that the medium is slow and exacting. The cutting, the foiling, the soldering all ask for patience and a steady hand, and there's no rushing a piece into being. For me, it's a meditative practice as much as an art form. I get to work with my hands, lose track of time, and end up with something that holds light and gives it back.
Every piece is a small act of turning fragments into something whole, which is maybe why I've never gotten tired of it.
I've made everything from residential commissions to smaller keepsake pieces created as gifts, work that gets to live in someone's home and mark something meaningful.
